FFS runs a busy and very successful fabrication shop at our Durban head office. All process plant is designed and fabricated in-house. This facility has a wide range of modern fabrication equipment, to machine, cut, bend, roll and weld steel for a variety of uses. The manpower fluctuates between 10 and 50 people depending on the project workload. All work is for our own use as the Company is not a vendor of equipment. The range of vessels, equipment, plant and machinery fabricated is extensive and includes:
-
Fuel reticulation systems (tanks, piping, outflow heaters, line-heaters, line-filters)
-
Centrifuge bowls, scrolls and parts
-
Filters (vessels, leaves, drives and parts)
-
Scraper conveyors
-
Tanks ( 36 m3 to 140 m3 in the shop and up to 5 000 m3 on site)
-
Pressure vessels to AMSE VIII and BS 5400
-
Heat exchangers (shell and tube, tube bundles etc)
-
Reactor vessels (mild, stainless and exotic steels)
-
Dissolved air flotation saturators
-
Separators (forced feed, vacuum, static, thickeners)
-
Road tankers (to SANS 1518/2004, single compartment, baffled and with metered pumping)

DESIGN
FFS also has a substantial engineering design capability and has several disciplines of engineering (structural, civil, mechanical, chemical and instrumentation) expertise to draw from. This enables the Company to design a wide range of process plant and equipment. Capabilities include instrumentation and control engineering, where PLC and SCADA programming is written for several packages including Adroit and combustion process design. |
